The NDP 2180HQF dual-diaphragm transducer incorporates two identical 3.5″ concentric ring diaphragms connected to a common 2″ throat, providing extremely high acoustic output.
The patented design of the NDP 2180HQF is the result of extensive research and development, and provides a dramatic improvement in efficiency, power handling, dynamic response and clarity.
In fact, the dual voice coil/diaphragm assembly provides 6 dB more peak SPL compared to a single voice coil transducer.
Two large annular diaphragms cover the frequency range from 300 Hz to 9000 Hz with a smooth, linear response.
The high diaphragm excursion of a maximum of +/- 0.8 mm results in high output and increased power handling of up to 2,500 W peak.
The unique voice coil technology employs a high purity copper wire wound inside and outside the Kapton™ die to improve heat dissipation, dramatically increasing acoustic output and transducer reliability while minimizing power compression.
The use of high-grade neodymium magnets provides improved performance while significantly reducing transducer weight.
